Disney Updates Its Disability Access Service Program (DAS)
In the fall of 2021, Disney Parks will be updating their Disability Access Service (DAS). Their DAS program provides assistance to guests with disabilities who are unable to tolerate extended waits in a conventional queue environment.
Visitors with disabilities are now able to pre-register virtually for DAS up to 30 days prior to their arrival with a cast member. This has improved because now requests can be made through the My Disney Experience App. Previously, after each return time, visitors had to constantly keep requesting return times from cast members at the rides that they wanted to go on. With requests through the app they save time and families can have an enjoyable day than constantly requesting return times in person which can be a hassle.
Disney Parks also provides other services for guests with disabilities. A few accommodations provided are wheelchairs, scooters, handheld devices (for auditory assistance), break areas (if over stimulation occurs), companion restrooms, and much more.
