Name: Kayla Wilson
Nickname: Kay, KK, or Sis as my brother calls me
School & Major:
I am a third year student at York College of Pennsylvania with a psychology major and a fine art minor.
What are your plans after college?
I plan to attend graduate school after I graduate this coming fall to further my education. Then I plan to become an art therapist. I am hoping to focus on providing art therapy to children.
What would be your dream job?
My dream job would be to be an Art Therapist that works with children and to work at an animal rescue on the side because I adore animals.
Why did you want to intern at the American Autism Association?
I wanted to intern with the American Autism Association because my younger brother was diagnosed with autism at a young age, and with my passion for psychology, I wanted to be able to better spread awareness of what autism is and what resources are available.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to draw all sorts of things from people to animals to landscapes. I also love to play with my two pets, one is a dog and the other is a hamster.
What’s been your favorite class in college and why?
My favorite class so far has been my Introduction to Art Therapy course as we got to actually make projects that would be used in the practice and learn more information on my dream job. The teacher was also very helpful and insightful.
What are you most looking forward to after graduation?
I am most looking forward to potentially having more time to create art that I could sell and make for fun. Also I hope to pursue my dream of being an art therapist.
How do you like your coffee?
I like my coffee with a mix of vanilla almond milk and flavored creamers, like thin mint or caramel. There is definitely more milk and creamer in my coffee than there is coffee.
Where is your dream vacation?
My dream vacation is to fly to Greece to see the Parthenon and the beautiful statues of the Greek gods so I can sketch them firsthand.
