Community Spotlight: Emma Levine

Youth Ambassador Emma Levine

Youth Ambassador Emma Levine

In 2020, the American Autism Association launched our Youth Ambassadors Program, an opportunity for high school and college students to serve as leaders in raising understanding and support for autism in their communities. We are delighted to welcome our first class of ambassadors, and we will be spotlighting each student.

Meet Emma!

What made you interested in working with the American Autism Association?

My goal has always been to make my mark on the world. I love fundraising and becoming a part of a community that values the presence of acceptance, love, and kindness. To me, that is what The American Autism Association is all about.

What do you hope to gain from your experience as a Youth Ambassador?

As a Youth Ambassador I hope to learn the ways in which I can make the world a better place: more love is needed especially during these times. An ambassador does more than just accept the label; they become a part of change.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I love to bake cookies, cupcakes, cake, brownies … really anything with sugar. I also love spending time with children, whether that is babysitting or taking mini field trips; you will always see me with a smile on my face.

What is your secret (or not so secret) talent?

My secret talent is probably that I can write songs. I don’t do it a lot but it is a perfect outlet for me when I have a lot on my chest. If you give me five minutes and a theme I can come up with a song on the dot, which I think is pretty cool.

What superpower do you want most?

My brother and I always talked about superpowers growing up. We never agree but I still stick with my original pick: I would love to fly because not only does it sound fun but I would love to travel without having to pay and pack. A vacation a day keeps the sadness away … right?

What is your dream job?

I aspire to be a math teacher. The two things I love most are helping others and challenges. I have always wanted to be a teacher and I can not wait until the day that I am in front of a class of students and introducing them to the math world. Not many students like math, but I think I can make it fun!
