Autism Awareness Month is right around the corner! Are you looking for ways to get involved? There’s no time like the present to become an advocate for the cause. Join the American Autism Association from anywhere in the world and make a difference for the autism community. Every dollar you raise provides educational, therapeutic, or supportive resources to an individual with autism. Get creative, and ignite change in any way you can!

#1 Give From the Heart

Your support matters more than you know. Any contribution helps provide resources and interventions to individuals with autism, giving them opportunity, hope, and a vision for their future. Making a charitable donation to the American Autism Association can change the lives of people in need.

Make your donation original. Do you have a birthday coming up? Use this special day to raise awareness for autism! This year, mix things up a bit and dedicate your birthday gifts to individuals and families affected by autism that need your support.

#2 Give Your Time

Not every contribution has to be a monetary gift. You can give your time and volunteer at one of our recreational programs or community outreach events. We’re always looking for a helping hand, lend yours to the cause. We accept volunteers of all ages to join us during our programs and events. Your time can also be spent volunteering or fundraising your way! Round up some friends & family and host a charity event. Get your community motivated to make positive strides for autism awareness.

#3 Get Competitive in the Workplace

Challenge your co-workers to make a difference for Autism Awareness Month. Get your employer and workplace community on board with being an autism advocate and agent for change by participating in workplace giving. Persuade your company to match a donation, and have some fun while raising autism awareness. Create a contest in the office to see who can get the most donations in a month!

#4 Get Active

Challenge yourself to do something bold. Join the American Autism Association and participate in We Run the Spectrum: Virtual Run! We Run the Spectrum invites everyone from around the world to come together to embrace our differences, and unite to raise autism awareness. Whether you’re a professional runner, a beginner who’s up for a challenge, or even someone who hates running – a virtual run is a great way to exercise. Lace up your sneakers, grab some friends and family, and join us as we not only stand for autism awareness, but run for it. Break a sweat, have fun and make a difference. Sign up today!

#5 Shop Till You Drop

Who doesn’t love a good shopping spree? Visit your mall or purchase your favorite things online. If you shop at Amazon Smile, Mabels Labels, Summer LuLu, or Triple Bristle a percentage of your purchase goes to The American Autism Association. In other words, the more money you spend at these storefronts, the more money goes into helping individuals on the autism spectrum. Give back this Autism Awareness Month by shopping at places that support our cause!

There are so many different ways to be active in the autism community. Don’t miss out on your chance to be the change you wish to see in the world.
