11-year-old boy with Autism Helps Save Grandmother After Fall
Hunter Craven is an 11-year-old boy with autism who lives in Ohio. He was the only one who was with his grandmother, Beverly Dickey, when she recently fell and was crying for help. The brave young boy ended up saving his grandmother’s life life.
His grandmother fell against a piece of metal and hit her knee, which had been recently replaced, nicked an artery and started to bleed severely. As soon as this happened, she started to scream her grandson’s name and cried for help. “I don’t really know what I was feeling. I just went into action when she started screaming,” said Craven to Action News.
Craven found his grandmother lying on the floor in their backyard. His grandmother told him to get his mom because she was bleeding and in pain, and he does exactly that. He ran quickly inside the house to where his mom, April Dickey, was and told her what happened. Craven’s mom couldn’t stop her bleeding, so she immediately called an ambulance. Craven’s grandmother calls her grandson her hero because of the way he acted and how quickly he did everything to help her.
“Though Hunter lives with autism, it doesn’t hold him back. They can still be capable of doing major things to help out in major ways. You never know what will happen, so in case something does go wrong, you want to have someone else there to help you,” said Craven’s mom to Action News.
