Art Auction Held Virtually to Raise Awareness and Funds for Autism
In Pitton, PA, a woman by the name Lindsay Dragon hangs art work on a wall for a virtual auction. Dragon considered that a good way to spread awareness about autism while also trying to raise funds during a worldwide pandemic would be through a virtual art auction.
She works with Autism Awareness NEPA as their events and social media coordinator. The Autism Awareness NEPA focuses on spreading awareness and supporting programs in Luzerne County. She is hanging up this artwork as it is going to be virtually auctioned off to buyers who can bid and outbid each other.
All of the pieces were donated by artists who have autism, have connections to autism, or simply just wants to help the cause. There are a variety of pieces, ranging from sculptures to paintings to charcoal drawings. Dragon mentions how these pieces are not all just simple pieces of art, but they are also a way to communicate with the public about the artist’s life and about autism.
All of these pieces will have a QR code placed next to them and they will be up for auction starting on February 23 of this year. A link to their flyer is listed here.
