Albany Police Host Birthday Parade for Local Girl with Autism
Annabelle Carroll’s 11th birthday was on April 8, 2020. Unfortunately, like many, she had to cancel the big birthday party she planned with her Special Olympics friends due to coronavirus and mandatory social distancing. As her family and friends saw she was disappointed with the cancellation, they decided to plan an alternative surprise for the big celebration.
On the morning of Tuesday, April 7, 2020, The Albany Police Department worked with Annabelle Carroll’s family to help put on an amazing and special birthday celebration. A special surprise birthday parade took place in front of Annabelle Carroll’s home with all her friends and family.
“It gives us hope. We still have to take care of our own,” said Katie Touhey, Annabellle’s God Mother to WRGB STAFF for WRGB CBS 6.
“The tween enjoyed it so much, the entire car parade did it again! It’s safe to say that Annabelle Carroll will never forget her 11th birthday”, says NEWS10, A local station in Albany, New York.
Below you can watch the video of the parade and how fun and memorable this birthday celebration was for Annabelle Carroll. She looked really happy that at least she was able to see her family and friends on her special day.
Wishing you the happiest of birthdays!
